Reports show Manchester United are comparable to Newcastle’s offer to Benjamin Sesco and by sending their bid to RB Leipzig. The two Premier League giants are head-to-head with the signatures of Slovenian main frontman, and their preferences are expected to determine the outcome of the forwarding saga.
Newcastle is in the marketplace to replace Liverpool pick Alexander Isaac. And it sent a second bid to £73.9m, the 22-year-old value reported on Monday night, as it landed Sesco as a top target. As Leipzig’s ratings were thought to have been met, United were developed as their clue to attempt to ruin the party.
According to Bild, United are consistent with the total value of Newcastle’s offer by putting together a £73.9 million package. Athletic claims that £65.2 million of its proposal will be paid upfront, with the rest being made up of add-ons.
Leipzig separated Sesco from the other teams due to the uncertainty surrounding his future and trained individually on Tuesday. It is believed he told both United and Newcastle “I just want to join them,” but one of the clubs would be disappointed.
If Leipzig gives both proposals a green light, it will depend on Sesco to decide his future. If the 6-foot-5-in shooter heads for Old Trafford, it would be another crushing blow for Newcastle, which was a disastrous summer transfer period.
They saw Hugo Ekitique and Joa Pedro’s bids being rejected before the travel was hijacked by Liverpool and Chelsea respectively. They were keen on Liam Dellup, but lost again to Chelsea, and long-term target Brian Mbeumo signed for United. It was another near miss as James Trafford snubted Tyneside to return to Manchester City.
Newcastle appeared to mitigate those losses by at least maintaining Isaac, who has surpassed 20 Premier League goals in each of the last two seasons. However, the Swedes are now pushing to leave the northeast and force them to move to Liverpool.
On top of that, the Magpie Chief encountered even more difficulties in pursuing Joan Wissa. Brentford already sells Mbeumo and doesn’t want to lose both star attackers in the same window. Wissa has refused to train with the bees after rejecting Newcastle’s £25 million bid, and it is unclear how the situation will be resolved.
