Liverpool youngster Tyler Morton is set to be urgently involved in Lyon as a hammer blow to West Ham’s transfer plan. Graham Potter’s side had planned an ambitious “double soup” that included a midfielder. And they are now forced to go back to the drawings.
The Reds have so far put their cash on new signatures this summer, and their spending has shown no signs of slowing down. Newcastle’s Alexander Isaac remains Merseyside’s top target, with Dominoes potentially falling, allowing him to join Liverpool at a record-breaking fee in the UK.

Morton was identified as a player who could move early in the summer window and moved to Lyonbeck, £15 million. However, the playmaker is also interested in its proximity to the house, and the Daily Mail reports that West Ham has him in sight.
Hammer is allegedly planning a double contract that would have seen Morton and Harvey Elliot join their side, but they now have to rethink that plan. Although West Ham appears to be preferred to alternative routes, it is said that he has “instructed” Liverpool to be willing to accelerate these plans.
Nonetheless, it remains to be seen whether West Ham continues to push Elliott. The playmakers face an uncertain future at Merseyside after struggling for a few minutes under the slot last season.
Hammer could face competition with many Premier League clubs if Liverpool decides to make Elliott available in the English sensational tournament at the European Championships over the summer. Fulham, Wolves, Brighton and Newcastle are those who were previously linked to securing his signature.
