Salford City endured the bad start of the League 2 campaign as they were beaten 3-1 at home while watching club owner Gary Neville in despair.
Gary Neville was untold on social media by Salford City rival Crew Alexandra after the defeat of this weekend’s opening day.
The Manchester United legend cut a gross figure on Saturday afternoon as his Salford side was scored a 3-1 defeat by a crew at home in the first League 2 clash of the season.
Kadeem Harris’ own goal gave Away Side the lead in the 8th minute by acquiring the male level in Neville.
However, Crewe quickly controlled the game just before the half-time interval as Conor Thomas netted the braces in just a few minutes of space.
Salford was unable to fight after the break, and Neville was seen watching the downbeat in the stands as he was painted with his hands on the window inside the director’s box.

The crew then couldn’t resist teasing the former England defender as Neville posted a photo of him holding his hand and showing five fingers, writing that “it was three Gary.”
The cheeky post was a hit on Twitter alongside soccer fans.
Another wrote: “We’re counting places far from the bottom of the league,” as the third person said, “How many people were Gary?”
Neville has been one of Salford’s owners since 2014 and has agreed to buy the club along with fellow classes of 92 members David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Shoals, brother Phil and businessman Peter Lim.
However, Neville acquired a stake in the club’s Lim in 2024, and it was announced this year that only Neville and Beckham remained shareholders from 92 legendary classes following the acquisition by the new ownership group.
Neville often shares his photos and videos following Salford City, and after the team finished in 8th place, he left heartbroken last season.
Salford is one of the many business interests Neville has invested in after starting a Manchester hotel football group.
He also founded an investment company called Rerentless, which invests in restaurants and real estate, and Buzz 16, a media group that runs overlap podcast content.
