Dere Ally’s football career has been in a downward spiral ever since leaving Tottenham in 2021 after struggling to rediscover his best form at Everton.
Former Tottenham star Dere Ally is reportedly considering retirement at just 29 years old after being told it wasn’t a Como plan under CESC Fabregas this season.
After struggling to find his best form at Goodison Park before a disastrous loan in Besiktas on the Turkish side in 2022-23, Ally endured the nightmare spell since departing Tottenham for Everton in 2021.
Everton allowed him to train with his first team during the 2023-24 season, but he remained healthy, avoided injuries and eventually left in 2024 before Como and Fabregas had a chance at him at the beginning of the year.
However, his unlucky football run continued after he was sent in his Como debut, just 10 minutes after coming out as a replacement following a rash challenge with Reuben Loftus Cheek.
According to Gazzetta Dero Sports, Ally has not played for the club and is now “expelled” from Fabregas’ new 2025-26 Serie a season plan, with England International now thinking of hanging out his boots.

Ally later gave a heartbreaking interview with Gary Neville in 2023 after being sent from the Spurs, revealing her childhood trauma, including how she was sexually abused as a child.
He said he struggled with mental health throughout his career and spent time rehabilitating following the end of Besikutas’ loan due to sleeping pill addiction.
In an interview, Allie said Mourinho was thinking of retiring at the age of 24, who was his manager, after losing his hunger as a top-level footballer.
“One morning I had to wake up and go to workout – this was when he stopped playing me – and I was in a bad place, I was literally staring in the mirror.
