Tottenham Hotspur defeated Arsenal in Hong Kong’s pre-season friendly, prompting social media between Spurs star Richarrison and one of his gunner rivals
Arsenal star Gabriel reminded his fellow men of a truly important game after his rivals faced the preseason. Spurs and Brazilian forward Richarrison were on the winning side in Hong Kong and shared photos of his man’s match awards on social media.
He also tagged Gabriel and clearly unearthed the Gunners centre-back. However, the defender didn’t let the slide, but he wasn’t planning on responding with a photo of the three Man of the Match Awards who won a Premier League match against the Spurs.
The first of the three awards came in the 2023-24 season when Arsenal won 3-2 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Gabriel was also the guy in the game both last season’s games – a 1-0 away victory for the gunners and a 2-1 home victory.
Arsenal had both first two preseason fixtures against AC Milan and Newcastle United. However, they were short on their North London rivals, but Pape Matar Sarr achieved the game’s only goal.
Gabriel was not involved in the match in Hong Kong. However, there was the debut of Gunners’ new striker Viktor Gyoker and centre back Cristhian Mosquera.

“It’s a big surprise because whenever they have a training session, a game, an attitude, especially whenever they have (a new signature) to participate in incredible quality,” Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta said after the game. “Like I said, do a lot of great things from this tour.
“The incredible friendship we had between our players and our staff, and the way I think everyone cherishes us. It’s been a long two weeks and a lot is happening. There’s a lot of stuff you have to adapt to your preparation.
Spurs boss Thomas Frank was pleased with the outcome, even if it was friendly. “A 1-0 score against Arsenal is an absolutely beautiful score!” he told club media.
“Yes, it’s friendly, but it’s also a very competitive match. Before the game, I said that the game against Arsenal was never “friendly.” That means everything. Both teams must be respected for their competitiveness in the game. It was very competitive. ”
