Liverpool spent nearly £300 million after incredibly massive spending as the Reds try to make Alexander Isaac the next lucrative addition – despite criticising the club’s tight wallet strings in recent years
Liverpool boss Arne Slot has clarified his stance on the club’s spending policy, insisting that the club “never hesitates” to put in cash, despite accusing owner FSG of money since the club took over.
The Reds are making huge summer spending as they approach £300 million following massive purchases. These two deals alone show that FSG and the newly-built Premier League champions mean business this summer.
Liverpool also brought fullbacks Jeremy Fripon and Milos Kerquez through the door. And there could be yet another big-name transfer in reports that they are willing to go all out for £150 million Alexander Isaac.
After Newcastle was informed that he would not sell the Star Striker, it appeared that Liverpool had signed Ekichike on Isaac’s behalf. However, mega money transfers can still occur as players are telling his club he wants to explore options this summer.
This bumper spending indicates a major change in the direction of FSG. FSG cannot accuse him of not bringing the big name to Anfield in the past, considering the favorable signatures of Mohamed Sarah, Virgil van Dik and Allison.

There is a real opportunity for Liverpool to build on their Premier League title victory and create a dynasty on top flights.
But the slots spoke before Liverpool’s Asia preseason tour said summer splurges show that they spend money when opportunities arise.
“I always say another thing about Liverpool is not to hesitate to bring someone in if you think there’s a chance in the market,” the Dutchman said.
“In the end it’s about quality and we’ve already signed some very good things. In terms of quality, we’re already in the right place. I think this club always works like this.
“It was already started when I brought in the Federico Chiesa last summer, but I sold three or four players, which meant a big profit, so I’ll balance it out.
The previous summer, the Liverpool chief committed around £150 million with four signatures – Dominique Sobosrai (£60 million), Alexis Mac Alistair (£35 million), Ryan Gravenburch (£34 million) and Wataru End (£17) changed teams.
In the 2022-23 campaign, they ran out about £85 million at Darwin Nunes and Cody Gakupo arrived in January at about £35 million, while Luis Diaz and Ibrahima were their only major arrivals before.
None of these campaigns compare to the enormous spending power that Liverpool has unveiled this summer. It’s proof that the FSG Chiefs are ready to back slots after a great title victory, and will help him win more silver products.
Liverpool fans have protested against American owners led by John W. Henry, and have previously demonstrated during the Champions League tie with Atalanta following a ticket price hike.
The previous year’s fans flew Anfield’s banner during a clash with Tottenham, who read “FSG Out” about lack of investment when managed by Jurgen Klopp.
For now, Liverpool fans have little to complain, especially when it comes to prove that ISAK’s pursuit is successful.
