Kai Rooney hoped to lift the trophy in front of his parents Wayne and Colleen this weekend at the Super Cup NI Finals, but his Manchester United U16 side was beaten by Southampton
Wayne Rooney was forced to watch from the stands as he mimicked his iconic celebration when the youngster defeated his son Kai in the Youth Tournament Final.
Teenager Jude Daniels won the under 16 winner of Southampton’s under 16 in the Super Cup NI Finals, trolling Kai by copying his father’s classic “knockout” celebration.
Manchester United legend watched in the crowd with his wife Colleen during a match in Northern Ireland, but Daniels’ goal was enough for the young saints team to stun United, so they couldn’t see his eldest son lifting the trophy.

Daniels tapped the house from close range to quickly celebrate the epic team, with an epic team moving for Southampton.
Faced with a part of the crowd, Daniels performed Rooney’s classic punching celebration. Luckily, his teammates were there to capture his fall.
Rooney is famous for celebrating Manchester United’s victory over Tottenham in 2015, which is what he became famous.
At the time, he was enjoying himself after the video went viral after teammate Phil Bursley accidentally knocked him out during a sparring match in his kitchen.
Despite United’s famous players on the team, it was Daniels who got into the spotlight that day.
Not only did United have the son of legendary former striker Rooney on the team, but also Jacee Carrick, son of former midfielder Michael.
It came after Kai himself copying the tribute of Victor Gyoker’s mask when he scored early in the tournament, and then mimicking the classic football celebration.
There is great hope for Kai at United after following in his father’s footsteps by signing the club as an 11-year-old in 2020, but he has come a long way to emulate Rooney SR, who scored 253 goals from his 559 appearances.
Just a year after signing the club, Kai signed a contract with sports maker PUMA.
