Thomas Party is set to sign a two-year deal with Villarreal after seeing the Arsenal contract expire as the Ghanaian prepares to appear in court after being attacked by several charges
Former Arsenal midfielder Thomas Party is set to join Villarreal this summer after his contract with the Emirates expires, allowing him to seek new meadows.
The 32-year-old Ghanaian is receiving medical care and is expected to sign a two-year contract with a Spanish club. This will allow him to play with the yellow submarine until 2027.
Part wanted to stay in the Champions League, but that was his main factor in choosing Villarreal, who finished fifth in Spain last year. The midfielder was tied to movements towards clubs in Europe and the Middle East throughout the season.
Athletic reported that the former Atletico man was discussing staying at the Emirates but failed to agree on the terms of the deal, despite the two parties attempting until the end of the day.
Partey joined the club from Atletico in 2020 for £45 million, and was part of the rise to title challenger under Mikel Arteta. Overall, he made 167 appearances for Arsenal and scored nine goals, including one in the North London Derby victory.

Shortly after the Arsenal exit in Ghana was confirmed, he was charged with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault. He denies all charges. He was the subject of a survey that began in February 2022. He is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday, August 5th.
Asked for his response to the news of Partey’s accusations, Arteta said, “The club was very clear in its statement. There are many legal issues that are very complicated so we cannot comment on it.
Arsenal has added several to the middle of the pitch in Martin Zubimendi’s key signature. The Spanish midfielder joined the club’s radar 12 months ago, then joined by Real Sociedad, supporting others such as Declan Rice and Martin Odegaard.
Christian Norgaard also joined from Brentford to add depth to the team’s midfield options. Arteta also gained more firepower in Chelsea’s Sports Lisbon and Noni Maduke’s Viktor Gyoker.
