Reuben Amorim is set to take charge of his first full season at Manchester United and is inspired by one of his rivals to line up his stars throughout the campaign
Reuben Amorim follows Pep Guardiola’s approach by forming a leadership group to keep Manchester United players restrained. Manchester City boss Guardiola has adopted this approach for several years, delegating players from the senior group to address disciplinary violations.
United boss Amorim did the same thing, taking responsibility for skippers Bruno Fernandez, Harry Maguire, Diogo Darotto, Lisandro Martinez, Tom Heaton and Nusea Mazrawie to line up the team.
“We have a leadership group now,” Amorim said. “It’s not just Bruno. It’s not just Harry. It’s six guys. They’re responsible for the group.
“There are a few things I had to deal with last year. This season, I told them, you’ll deal with it. The little issues are with you. You’re responsible.
“There are all these little changes, but I think it helps the group, Bruno, Harry, Richa (Martinez), Diogo, Tom and Nuth.

“So it’s not just the oldest. Nous is my favorite character and I’m in the group because I’m trying to understand the dynamics of the group that I try to reach all the space. They’re responsible for putting everyone together.
“We feel more organized now. We’ll be better. What we eat, tours, pitch, and rules behaviour.
“I know they’re not kids and don’t treat players like kids. But I think these little rules can help groups get stronger. We have rules and rules aren’t about treating players as babies.

“I treat them as men, but they have the rules now, and that can change the way you train. If you don’t train the right way, I have footage to show you – and I’ll show you to you in front of everyone.
“So I’m always on the top. But in a way, they push each other, so I don’t have to do anything. But if you train badly, I’ll show you the image.
