Reuben Amorim is about to embark on his first full season at Manchester United, with pre-season preparations underway.
United ended the tour as champions following a 2-2 draw with Everton, with Mbeumo making his non-competitive debut with the club.
But how many more pre-season friendly matches are on Amorim’s team’s cards, who are their opponents?

What did the manager say?
Amorim said United looked “a different team” after overcoming heavy rain and swirl winds to claim a 4-1 victory over Bournemouth in Chicago, despite the new signatures Mbeumo and Cunha not featured.
Patrick Dorg set up Rasmus Hozilund for United’s opener. In the second half, the Old Trafford Club expanded its lead through Amado Dialo and Ethan Williams.
In fact, the latter, the 19-year-old academy product, was converted just a minute after leaving the bench. It was his first United goal, earning the net twice and registering two assists in 17 games for Cheltenham Town in League 2.
In the 88th minute, Mattigis de Liguto transformed David Brooks’ cross into his own net for a Bournemouth comfort goal.

Amorim ‘Ready’ Garnacho, Antony, Sancho, etc. are not welcome

“It was a good game. We played with strength. We were offensive and that’s something we need to improve from last season,” Amorim said. “We had better ownership than the last game, so they listen.
“Of course, scoring first at the start of the game can change the team’s confidence. We feel like we change some positions and know what they need to do in different positions.
“It was a good test. We controlled Evanilson and (Antoine) Cemen Yowan very well and Lukeshaw was really strong too.
“It was just a pre-season game, but the feeling with the same players is even a pre-season game. Looking at the same players playing now, it looks like a different team, and that’s a good sign.”
“I think he (Fernandez) has more players now. I felt that on the tour. Now I feel that there are more players helping them lead the group. That’s good. But he’s our leader.
“He lives with examples and he works really hard (he) is always available. Sometimes he plays with pain. The problem sometimes gets frustrated and sometimes he loses the focus of his work a little.
“Sometimes, he wants to help his teammates that much, so sometimes it’s not the best. Bruno has to wait for the ball in a variety of situations. This kind of thing is the leader, but he needs help.
United ended their trip unbeaten despite being held in a 2-2 draw by Everton in the final match.
Fernandez again targeted, as did Mason Mount, and his manager called for his overall contribution.
“He does everything 100%,” Amorim said of the midfielder. “Every training and every game, he’s always the same player. The only thing to keep things consistent is that you have to work.
What did the player say?
Goalscorer Dolg said United are adapting to Amorim’s methods after a 4-1 victory in Chicago.
“Even if the weather conditions weren’t that good, it was good to see the fans still there. It was good that the team gave the fans a good performance.
“I feel that the preseason is helping everyone understand Reuben’s ideas more.
“The more training I train, the more I grow into his ideas and I feel I’m already seeing a bit of it on the pitch. I’m continuing to improve.”
“I think they have to be patient with us,” he said. “We have new managers with new players and new tactics.

“I know that last season wasn’t really good for the team, but I think we’ve got a lot of wins with him this season, and I hope we’ll achieve a lot of good things by the end of the season.
“A good season will be the top five, and I hope we can achieve that top five at the end of the season.
“The whole game was good. We were good with the ball. We could have kept it for a while, when the manager was asking. I rushed a bit in the last third when I was trying to score a goal. I’ll work on that.”

Matheus Cunha made his debut against Leeds following a £62.5 million move from Wolverhampton Wanderlers. The Brazilian played the opening 45 minutes and was unable to ride the scoresheet, but Amorim was impressed with his performance.
“I think Matheus Cunha showed us what we needed, he’s a player,” the United boss said. “When he receives the ball between the lines, he can really be aggressive in the direction of the opponent.
“I saw (Cunha) on another team last season, so I hope for the same.
“We see that he and Bruno (Fernandez)’s connection is not there yet, but it’s going to be a good connection because we can have players like Cobby (Main) or Mason Mount there. We need to improve the quality in the last third.”
Cunha then played 66 minutes with West Ham winning alongside Fernandez, starting to lock down a midfield position on the left, appearing in the season opener. However, he did not feature any abilities against Bournemouth.
Teenager Diego Leon also first appeared in the Red Devils with Leeds and delivered a lively 45-minute cameo that received praise from his manager.
“We have to understand that our child (Leon) came from Paraguay, his second week at Manchester United,” explained Amorim.
“He’s done really well, he’s learning things, he’s strong. He’s going to be a very good player.”
He then backed up it off the bench with West Ham and replaced Dolg after 66 minutes, helping Manchester United retain the victory, then a victory at Bournemouth.
Against Everton, all eyes were first appearing in Brian Mbeumo, so the manager was impressed by what he saw from the former Brentford star.
“Of course, he needs to improve a lot. You can feel that Brian’s physicality is not perfect.
“He’s going to be really important to our team.”
