“Everyone said the Bulls***About Us Last year” – Renee Yoro Confident Manchester United will silence critics in the “Revenge” season

Despite finishing 15th in the Premier League last season, Rennie Yoro is sure Manchester United will bounce and silence critics as a new campaign begins.

The spotlight is often found at United, but it’s particularly bright to get out from behind, despite it’s been a disastrous season for the club.

Reuben Amorim’s side finished with just 42 points in the Premier League. The run to the UEFA Europa League Final gave Amorim and his players the opportunity to save something from their efforts, but a 1-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur represented the campaign.

He also left United without European football for the first time in over a decade. Yoro understands and accepts criticism that targets the club but supports “different” future.

“We’re a big club,” Yoro said. “There are a lot of people who want us to fail. We know that. But there are a lot of people who want us to do it and do great things. We’re focusing on our fans.

“We don’t care what they say outside, the media. Everyone said Bulls*** about us last year.

“But we understand that it wasn’t going very well. This season will be different. I hope we don’t have to hear this and focus on ourselves.”

At least the early signs of preseason are getting better. The training pitch did not have the ideal time for players to speed up in the system, as Amorim arrived after the 2024/25 season had already begun after the departure of Eric 10 Hug.

However, United looked sharp all over the pitch during their pre-season US tour victory at West Ham and Bournemouth, but also had a positive from a 2-2 draw with Everton.

This is the first new signature that Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo have played together, and it impressed and demonstrates why United reported £130 million to take to Old Trafford.

When the club began what Yolo described as a “revenge” season against Arsenal on August 17th, the defenders challenged themselves to bring the best to all players.

“When you play for Manchester United, you need to have the mindset of being the best version of yourself,” Yoro added.

“I think what we did last season was a mistake for us. When you’re Manchester United, you can’t be in this position. Fans know that, everyone knows it. I think we understand this.

“This season is different for us. It’s going to be like a revenge from last season. We need to do better.”
