Tottenham challenged Newcastle with his preseason friendly and Premier League rival in Seoul on Sunday, with several dramatic incidents between the two teams, including between Christian Romero and Bruno Guimarè
Bruno Guimaras and Christian Romero clashed in Seoul, with a man from Newcastle placing his hands around the throat of the Tottenham star. The two Premier League rivals clashed in Seoul on Sunday as part of their pre-season preparations.
And it was a dramatic event between the two, and the game ended with a 1-1 draw – goals coming through Brennan Johnson and Harvey Burns. And there was even more drama before halftime between Brazilian midfielder Guimarès and Argentine defender Romero.
The Newcastle man was able to avoid a wild challenge from a defender just outside the penalty area. The Brazilian was pushed onto the floor by Romero as he tried to create space.
Guimarès responded angrily to the push as he jumped and placed his hand on Romero’s neck. The Brazilians were probably lucky to escape further punishment, but given the preseason nature of the game, that might explain why.
Flashpoints between pairs were not the only incident in the game. The match could represent the final match of my son Heung Min on the North London side.

He was withdrawn shortly after the time mark to receive much praise from supporters within the stadium. Meanwhile, midfielder James Madison appeared to pick up something seriously injured and had to extend off the pitch during the closure stage.
After the game, Spurs boss Thomas Frank said: “I think it’s beautiful and brutal at times in life and football. That’s what we got today. It’s a crazy injury and it looks like an incredible scene for his son from his teammates and respect from Newcastle players.
“After the first walkaround, the teammates gathered together, he was emotional, it was the same thing in the changing room.

“I just said a few, not because it’s about Sony, and because he said a few, and it’s beautiful.”
Spurs have just under two weeks left until the first Premier League match of the season against newly promoted Burnley. Before that, they faced Bayern Munich in the final preseason game.
The Spurs will also take on French giant Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Super Cup. Elsewhere, Newcastle will face Aston Villa in the opening game of the Premier League.
