Former Bayern Munich striker and club president Uli Hornes got sick at a golf event and was taken to the hospital on Saturday evening after suffering medical problems
Bayern Munich legend Uli Hoynes suffered from a “burst vein” and was rushed to the hospital after getting sick at a charity golf event on Saturday. German reports say the 73-year-old is said to be on track after the incident and has already left the hospital.
Hoenes spent 49 years as a prominent figure at Bayern, first starring as a player with over 250 appearances before becoming one of the faces of the club’s hierarchy. West Germany International served as general manager of the Bundesliga Giants for 30 years before becoming president.
And the Bayern icon has been preparing to speak and represent the club since resigning from his position in 2019.
The charity invitation was hosted by Telecom CEO Timotheus Hotzs. The state-owned enterprise was a major sponsor of Bayern Munich, and Hoenes’ successor as president Herbert Heiner was also present.
Telekom is said to be on the verge of a contract extension with Vincent Kompany’s Bundesliga Champions. This transaction is said to bring more than £50 million a year to Allianz Arena.

Hoenes was Bayern’s President Empire and played an almost important role in bringing Florian Wiltz aside before the star moved to Liverpool. Hans, the father of German International, revealed how it made it difficult for executives to turn him down.
“The situation with Bayern was difficult because Uli Hoynes and Karl Heinz Rammenijge put incredible effort and clearly analyzed the possibilities of the sport,” Wurtz said.
“I have the greatest respect for Uli Hornes and his lifelong achievements. After Florian’s cruciate ligament cleft in 2022, he immediately helped us book an Innsbruck surgery.
“We still appreciate him, which is why the final call with Uli Hornes was extremely difficult for me.
“But of course, he couldn’t hide his disappointment. After all, he was personally working hard to secure this transfer.”
