Reuben Amorim insisted that he would not resent Alejandro Garnacho’s wish to leave Manchester United for a new challenge. The winger fell with the manager after United were x from the final starting lineup in the Europa League, where they lost 1-0 to Tottenham.
After an overwhelming defeat, Garnacho openly questioned Amorim’s decision, suggesting that he would squeeze his options during the summer holidays.
Amorim informed the £40 million rated star that he had no role in his vision of the future, excluded him from United’s US tour and several other players seeking an exit.
But Amorim thinks United and Garnacho are going separate ways, given the 20-year-old’s obvious desire to make his deal elsewhere.
“Along with Garnacho, I think you can understand and you can see that he is talented, he is a truly talented boy,” Amorim said. “But sometimes things don’t work and you can’t explain exactly what it is.
“But I think it’s clear – Garnacho wants something different with different leadership and I can understand that.
“So I don’t think that’s the problem. Sometimes you adapt to one guy, you have a connection. Sometimes you want a new challenge at other times.
“So we’re trying to make everything okay for every party. For clubs, coaches, players. That’s the natural thing about football.”
Garnacho is keen to switch to Chelsea. Chelsea have inquired about his availability, but Aston Villa and Serie A costume Napoli have also registered their interest.
