British women claimed the glory of Euro 2025 against Spain, while Lucy Bronze posted a witty video of Esme Morgan joking about the master plan and regaining the title
Lucy Bronze posted a video jokingly that it was “all part of the plan” for an English woman to start Euro 2025 in defeat by France.
The Lionesses saw Spain with a penalty to keep the European crown by Chloe Kelly hitting the winning kick after the match ended 1-1. But rewind weeks, and Sarina Wigman’s side endured an unforgettable start to their defense.
They lost 2-1 to France in the opener, claiming that defender Jess Carter “played a bit scary.”
But it’s all forgotten, and Bronze was able to see the funny side of the loss as she and Esme Morgan posted a video together from the changing room.
When the bronze began, the duo waved: “Everyone underestimated us because they lost the first game.” Then, as the video continued, the camera panned to Morgan. Medal Bronze has finished with “European Champions Backback.”

The Lioness also settled a personal score against Spain, who beat them in the World Cup final several years ago, making it the first country to maintain the women’s euro after Germany’s sixth straight win from 1995 to 2013.
The bronze itself has earned great praise after passing through the wall of pain. She was seen holding her legs in several games.
In the final, she limped again, but managed 105 minutes before leaving the pitch in tears as she was kicked out. Bronze said: “I hurt my knee with my other leg today. So I’m feeling a lot of pain and I got a lot of praise from the girls after the Swedish match.
“But if that’s what it takes to play for the UK, that’s what I do – they know that. We inspire each other by playing things like that and finally brought us together.”
She joked, but her injuries wouldn’t stop her ability to celebrate: “It’s very painful. I’m going to party, I’m going to enjoy it. That’s all.”
Wiegman said in his bronze efforts: “She had some issues with her tibia, so of course we tried to manage it. When you play 120 minutes, are you not managing it?
