England 6-1 Wales: Lioness knew that a victory was needed to book their place in the Swiss quarterfinals, and they did just that and blew up Wales in St. Gallen

England claimed the victory needed to move to the quarterfinals of Euro 2025 against Wales in St. Gallen.

The Lioness needed a victory to confirm progress towards the quarterfinals and was out of sight before halftime whi. Georgia Sternway’s early penalty included Ella Tone, Lauren Hemp and Alesia Russo adding more goals before the break, setting them halfway through.

The fear of agitation quickly disappeared, allowing the holder to cruise a portion of the star to rest in the second half. And two of their alternatives were combined for England’s fifth, and Aggie Bee Bee Jones fed Beth Mead and dug into the horns.

However, Wales continued their attacks even as the outcome left them, rewarding them with their own goals through alternative Hannah Cain.

However, Beaver Jones had the final say and was late and impressive to give the Lioness a big win as they eased to the final eight.

Sarina Wiegman nominated the unchanged XI for the game, with England coming forward within 15 minutes of patient start.

They initially thought they had a free kick on the edge of the box after Carrie Jones’ Sternway foul, but Valcheck revealed that the attack had occurred in the box. The Bayern Munich midfielder cleaned up the spot kick herself, and her high press helped set the second goal – Alesia Russo was also involved before Tone got a finishing touch.

The two quickly got to 3 with hemp – impressed with the flash in their wing play in the first two games – after playing down the right from Tooone and Lauren James, they grabbed an unusual head goal.

Tone and James were also involved in fourth, ripping the Welsh backline all at once, and England’s No. 10 rolled the ball to pick Russo and picking her spot.

After seeing two goals choked off on offside in the first two group games, Russo would have been pleased to score the goal counted this time.

With the UK under control, Wigman was able to give some players a rest. This got tone and hemp for Beth Mead and Jess Park on the break. They seemed to pick up where they left off, but only made an effort as Park came back from the post, which seemed to get a touch to keep it out.

England continued to change, with Aggie Bee Bee Jones and Chloe Kelly respectively reaching the bench for over 30 minutes as James and Russo were given the rest of the night.

James didn’t score a goal this time, but was once again sensational with the ball, making the Wales fullback helpless on either side. However, it wasn’t that easy for Rhian Wilkinson’s underdog.

Mead and Beaver Jones have added an extra gloss to the scoreline, combining two subsidies brilliantly, rather than the bad options on the bench.

Wales got one back when Cain pushed Jess Fishlock Pass into the house.
