Liverpool is tilted to pursue Alexander Isaac if they choose to leave Newcastle despite already signing Hugo Ekitike – could leave Arne slots in attack conundrum
In Liverpool’s case, spending this summer has risen by more than £200 million after confirming Hugo Ekitique capture this week.
Many saw the movement as an alternative to Alexander Isaac. But now, the story of the switch to Anfield is once again turned on in light of news that the Newcastle frontman wants to explore his options.
Liverpool still appears to have room to invest more than £100 million after a quiet summer 12 months ago. This is how much it takes to land Isaac. The Reds and Arne slots are thought to remain enthusiastic and if you chase ISAK you can hardly find competition.
At the beginning of the year, Arsenal had the top of his summer wish list, but gunners didn’t feel he was achievable after Newcastle secured qualifying for the Champions League and pursued other targets. Chelsea, which conducted an investigation last summer, is now prioritizing the arrival of RB Leipzig star Zabi Simons after landing Liam Dellup and Joa Pedro.
However, it remains to be seen whether they will make Liverpool work Isaac in the first XI. Having depth is one thing, but anyone who wants to play No. 9 can prove challenging to try and fit a striker with over £200 million can prove challenging and present political issues that the team can’t.

Harmony can often be underestimated, but signing an ISAK certainly presents an equally desirable and undesirable problem with slots. Mohamed Sarah is the only man on the right who is certain of his place. Beyond that, it is debatable.
That being said, the club’s hierarchy, which spends £116 million on players with the British record, expects him to play a regular role if he pays it back. Florian Wirtz arrives with a great reputation and is expected to play a creative role just behind the striker. It would effectively pay for the idea of placing Isaac in the deeper role behind Ekitique.
Perhaps it’s bigger to leave one of Isak or Ekitike (probably the latter) so that slots can find a way to put all his new arrivals into one team. The French have played from the left in the past, which further speculates around Lewis Diaz, who is usually active from the left.
Colombians are eligible for bids from Bayern Munich. Liverpool has not given a contract talk, but Diaz claims it is not on sale. The player himself is not committed to staying or going. But seeing big names that are likely to play in his position arrive may not work.
Diaz himself said: “I am very calm and very happy where I am.” The former port man also insisted that he “makes the best decision for me,” and Bayern is reportedly ready to return a new and improved offer.
The sale of Diaz will even help offset the amount of mammoths that cost Isaac’s landing. Columbia itself will go straight to a test of Newcastle’s resolve, ordering an excess of fees at £60 million.
One thing that’s for sure is that if you want to land Isaac at the club, there are two real options. One – sign Newcastle Ace and Ekitique, but accept that only one can start each week. Or 2- chases Isaac as the main man in the attacking attack, pushing Ekitique out loud, but admits Diaz goes hard to the exit door.
Behind the offensive quartet, the team is beginning to look more calm. Ryan Gravenburch carved his authority into his midfield location, proving that Alexis Mac Alistair is a great foil for him. Virgil van Dyke continues to be a defensive leader alongside Ibrahima Conate, who has an uncertain future. Two centre herbs may have to get used to two new fullbacks: Jeremy Fripon and Milos Kerkes.
