Hugo Ekitike joined Liverpool on a £79 million contract with Eintracht Frankfurt despite competition with many clubs, including Newcastle. The French now reveals that Arne Slot has convinced him to move to Anfield
New Liverpool star Hugo Ekitike revealed that a “very good argument” with Arne Slot has persuaded him to move to Anfield with great interest in his signature this summer.
The Reds won the race to sign a French striker after a sensational season in the Bundesliga.
Newcastle was at a club of interest, rejected by Frankfurt, and Liverpool quickly dived afterwards.
It has been revealed that Liverpool is Ekitique’s first choice.
Ekitike was conducting the first interview with a rubber deal, explaining how Arne Slot’s persuasive tactics sealed off the move and praised the Dutch as “really good coaches and people.”

“We had a very good first discussion together,” he told the club’s official website. “Obviously, coaches are very human, so we could talk about (but) everything about football.
“I think he’s very interesting. I think he’s a really good person, so I was really happy to see what he could do with.
According to ESPN, Ekitike won in the slot in a video call where former Feyenord coach presented how the French star fits into his tactical plans.
A similar persuasive technique was used to take Florian Wiltz to Liverpool, with a British transfer record of £116.5 million, and the player’s father Hans Joachim revealed how the key slots were working together to shake him up on a potential move to German club Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Der Spiegel, he said:
“Florian’s best coaches were those who gave him a lot of freedom, and even those with the greatest empathy have reached Florian.
“Arne Slot holds and closes his theatrical philosophy, team tactics, and presented ways in which Florian develops his strengths in these areas. This made a critical impression on Florian. The training conditions at Liverpool were also completely impressive.”
