Eddie Howe manages Newcastle United as Benjamin Sesco Call Maid, playing the £40 million pivot

This was a quiet transfer window for Newcastle United. Eddie Howe had to deal with the uncertain future of Alexander Isaac, aiming to improve his attack options.

The first half of Newcastle United’s summer transfer period was frustrating. Only one senior has been added to EddieHou’s team ahead of the new Premier League season, when Magpies are scheduled to compete in the UEFA Champions League once again.

The club strengthened the frontline earlier this month with an Anthony Elanga £55 million signature from Nottingham Forest, but the Swedes are the only first team signature ever to arrive at St. James Park. The uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isaac, the target of the approach from Liverpool, and the failure of Entracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitique, has been closed with a move to the Reds, but they have been reverted to square.

Magpies are also in need of a new goalkeeper with all five members at clubs over 32, facing similar situations as six defenders over 30. Miller Football looks at who Newcastle focuses their energy to sign.

£40 million goalkeeper pivot

Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford was a player who was keen to sign Magpies last season, but was forced to get out of the deal due to PSR issues. The Young England star enjoyed a record season in the championship, retaining 29 clean sheets and conceded just 16 goals as Clarett returned to the Premier League to win the promotion.

Newcastle is an interested player and has returned to the negotiation table to secure Trafford’s move, but thanks to the reappearance of Manchester City, their efforts are deeply suspicious. Citizens want to activate the buyback clause to sign former academy alumni.

Trafford – who spent six years at the city academy – is advertised as replacing Adason, who agreed to personal terms with Galatasaray, according to a Turkish report. While it appears even more frustrating to Hau, Lille goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier has already been appointed as an alternative target and has been appointed as a more promising target anyway.

Also worth £40 million, the Frenchman was named the League One Goalkeeper of the Year last season. The 23-year-old held 11 clean sheets. It’s just one more than the league-leading Bryce Samba. He has proven to be a wise signature for the Magpie despite struggling and prioritizing in the Premier League in his previous attempt.

The best defensive targets have been secured

Strengthening their defensive rank is particularly high on the record suffered by Sven Bottman’s injuries and on the agenda of Howe. After appearing in 44 games during his debut season in the UK, Dutchman played for a total of 32 in the next two campaigns due to a serious knee injury.

According to Sky Sports, Botman’s reliability and the lack of young options in Newcastle’s defense have led them to build a list of candidates for Nicola Savona, Giorgio Scalvini and Cesar Talegga. Despite suffering an ankle injury against Manchester City at the Club World Cup, it is said that Juventus defender Savona is the top of Howe’s list.

The 22-year-old, who played for the 28-year-old elderly lady this past season, played back to the right for most of these games, but moved to centre-back at the end of the season. Despite suggesting he will take action until mid-September, he can move to Tyneside with very one eye on the future prospects.

The £20 million regional offer may be enough to secure his signature. Otherwise, the 21-year-old Italian Scalvini fellow missed the second half of Atalanta’s last season, while the 23-year-old Spaniard Talegga has established himself as Valencia’s first choice.

An additional attack challenge

The Newcastle striker’s dilemma is complicated and currently shows no signs of deposition. The club hoped to be tripled fortune by signing Ekitike this month. In recent years, they went for him on two separate occasions, but were of no use, and after they tried to lure him out of Frankfurt with a £70 million bid that was quickly denied by the Bundesliga side.

The French are currently scheduled to complete a move to Liverpool, where Newcastle was forced to look for alternatives. However, Brian Mbeumo was hoping to seal his move to Manchester United with a £701 million move, allowing the West Londoners to say goodbye to the striker.

With striker options running out, Newcastle is linked to the moves of RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesco. The Slovenians were preferred by Arsenal, but the gunners chose to pursue Victor’s Gyoker instead.

Despite his heavily valuation, Newcastle chose to pay a high fee to secure an ISAK replacement, and speculation continues to grow after his omission in a 4-0 preseason defeat to Celtic on Saturday. Before he admitted that he spoke to him about his future, Hau admitted that he had left the Swedes at home due to overwhelming rumors.

“I chose to send him home,” Howe said. “The last thing I want if Alex isn’t playing is sitting in the stands and under that scrutiny, agreeing that he mutually agreed that he shouldn’t be here if he wasn’t going to play today.

“Yes, I discussed it with him, and that’s not unusual,” he added. “I respect the player’s career and how short it is. Alex was really good. He’s really well trained and I notice there’s noise around him.”

His move to Liverpool now appears to be out of the equation for Ekitike, but Isak could be staying at St James’ Park for foreseeableness. But adding Sesco to the ranks and playing with him and eventually filling his boots could be worth a long-term investment.
