Former Barcelona prospect Carls Perez was hospitalized after a small genital bite in the dog in an unusual incident. The offensive midfielder, currently playing for Greek club Alice, was forced to miss an important conference league match due to the “deep gouache,” which he reportedly suffered after being bitten.
When Perez approached another dog, Perez was said to have walked the dog in Greece. He attempted to separate the two, but was bitten by his genitals. The 27-year-old was taken to a private hospital in Panorama, another suburb of Thessaloniki, where he reportedly received treatment. Perez’s genitals reportedly needed six stitches for “deep gouache.”
According to Marca, Perez is still being observed in the hospital and will not return to his ARIS teammate any time soon. However, it is understood that he is not at least in a serious state.
On Wednesday, Aris Manager Marinos Ouzounidis confirmed that Perez is scheduled to launch a conference league qualifying clash with Araz Naktiban. Ouzounidis states: “Carls would have been in the starting lineup. This incident happened, but I can’t stick to it anymore. My mind is working on alternative solutions and we’ve been working on them.
“So I argue that it’s important to have players with personality. So I’m interested in a group of players at my disposal and give them everything I can.”
The match would have marked his second appearance for Perez, his new club. He recently signed a loan from Celta Vigo after fellow La Liga Club Getafe refused to take up the option to sign him according to his temporary spell.
Perez made his Barcelona debut in 2019, but left for Rome a year later after only 13 appearances for the Spanish Giants. After departure, he accused the former club of not having patience with the younger players.
“I’m only thinking about success in Rome,” Perez told Marca in 2020.
“I didn’t understand my exit, but I respect my decision and thank the club for treating me over the years. People talk about academies, but sometimes they prefer to spend millions and don’t have patience with younger players.
