Marcus Rashford has completed his “dream” move for Barcelona and joined the Catalan giants in a seasonal loan move from Manchester United.
Simon Jordan denounced both Manchester United and Marcus Rashford after the English striker sealed off his move to Barcelona.
Rashford, 27, joined Blaugrana on an in-season loan agreement. Barca retains the option to change permanently for £26 million. He was announced at Camp Know on Wednesday, where Rashford declared:
Certainly, Reuben Amorim’s time with United is far from a dream, when Rashford was abandoned from his first team and was loaned out to Aston Villa later last season, revealing that in the coming season the Portuguese wanted him anywhere near his first team.
Currently, former Crystal Palace owner Jordan points his fingers to both the club and Rashford, how his time at United collapsed, whether he’s lending from the club without collecting any kind of front transfer fee – saving £12 million in terms of salary.
“We should lament the loss of important talent,” said Jordan, who is speaking about Talksport when asked about the Rashford switch. “I don’t think he was on the level he was built on, but we should lament the loss of Man United’s culture in order for players to lose his path.

“Do you remember he was on the European Championship team after the European Championship, which wasn’t suited to much of the season… I came there. After the European Championship, the club allowed him to take two weeks off before undergoing shoulder surgery.
“I think we have to be responsible for opportunities that players aren’t being taken at our doors, but if these young men don’t create a culture to respect and cherish the opportunities they have, they can be distracted by external influences.”
Jordan has revealed his complaints in recent years about how the Old Trafford hierarchy handled Rashford, but he also argues that players must be held accountable for how his career at United was unraveled.
Jordan continued: “Of course (it’s Rashford’s fault), but I know there are very few leaders in football.
“You lose them (followers), there is distraction and external influence. They are more distracted in their social life. They make their decisions for their birthdays.
“These are clearly tolerated by culture. In addition to what you have of distractions, richness, and wealthy footballers.
“If that’s the case, there’s a culture where they can’t tell the truth to people because they can’t deal with it. They don’t build resilience and leadership because it’s good news that they can hear.”
Worse, Jordan said, “I think we’ll be successful in Barcelona, because the obvious thing about Marcus Rashford is to escape Manchester United, that’s for Man United, and Marcus Rashford.
Speaking after the announcement at Nou Camp, Rashford said, “I’m very excited. It’s a club where people’s dreams come true. They win big prizes and what the club means really means a lot to me.
“I feel like I’m home. This is a big factor in coming here because it’s a family club and people are comfortable here and it’s a good place for players to show off their skills. I appreciate the warm welcome. It’s a different environment for me, but it feels like home.
“I’m full of excitement and hunger to go out and help this club win. They’ve won a lot last year. You can see that their ambitions are better than last year. That’s what you want to hear as a player.
“I’m always trying to take decisive action – fast, dynamic plays and I always like good football, so I’ve always been a fan of watching Barcelona play from an early age, like most soccer fans.
