Manchester United have completed two major signings in the summer transfer window so far, but Reuben Amorim hopes at least three more to create his dream XI for the 2025/26 season
Manchester United flew to the US for a pre-season tour, with only part-time overhauls of their troops. United have entered the summer transfer window with a big plan to tear their team and start again after a horrifying campaign, but so far they’ve been moving slowly.
After finishing 15th in the Premier League, his loss in the Europa League final sparked serious questions in camp. The idea was that Ruben Amorim was supported by the transfer market, discarding unnecessary players and pressing the reset button.
Masshus Kuña’s early arrival on a £62.5 million transfer from the wolf looked like a statement of intent. However, it took another six weeks for the second arrival to be sealed. Brian M Beumo joined on Monday from Brentford for £71 million.
Cunha and Mbeumo are the main signatures of United, who managed to acquire two of the most exciting players in the Premier League despite failing to offer European football in their upcoming campaigns. However, there is a lot to do before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

First, the club will need to find five member buyers of the “bomb squad” of Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. Rashford heads to Barcelona on loan, while Sancho joins Juventus, with the other three in progress.
In the meantime, the search continues for other targets. Aston Villa’s Emi Martinez has been interested in clearing, and there is one path at the finish line that has attracted more row inches in recent weeks. United reportedly made the offer to sign the World Cup winner on loan, but only to see that it was rejected by Villa.
Andre Onana’s mistakes are well documented, and Altay Bayindir’s backup wasn’t good when he stepped into Void last season. Emi Martinez will definitely be a step up if United can get a deal through the line. The problem is that he has been signed with the Villa until June 2029, and it is unlikely that he will sanction a direct sale to a rival.
Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens is another player United is considering and is currently making a comeback from Hamstring’s injuries. Ranmens is worth £17 million by the Belgian club, making him a more realistic alternative.
Athletic says it is another area where Amorim wants to improve. It’s a deep midfield with Casemiro on the hill, and Manuel Ugarte is not consistently impressed.
United are believed to be interested in Atalanta’s star Edason, and the Brazilians look like the perfect fit. Juventus and Inter Milan are linked to Adason, whose value is at 60 million euros (£52 million), but United have the potential advantage of having a good relationship with the Italian side, and previously signed Rasmus Hozilund and Amado.
Aedason’s presence at the midfield base allows Amorim to lead Captain Bruno Fernandez into the field in one of his two central midfield roles, with new signatures Mbeumo and Cunha operating in the No. 10 position. The sports of Morten Hjulmand from Lisbon, which Amorim knows well, is another option.
In advance, United are looking towards the centre. They inquired that Hugo Ekitique, who is now joining Liverpool, and Victor Gyoker, Nicholas Jackson and Ollie Watkins, who are currently tied to Arsenal, are on the long list.
United will need to open up space this summer and sell Hozilund to fund striker moves. And there were rumours of interest from Danish striker Serie A, who managed just 10 goals in 52 games last season.

Benjamin Sesco was 16 years old in Slovenia and the club held talks last summer. Earlier this summer, Arsenal seemed to prefer him over gyoker, but in the end they changed their minds.
Sesko is believed to be valued at 70 million euros (£60 million) by RB Leipzig and has an all-round game to play as a central loan in Amorim’s system.
Reuben Amorim’s Dream Man Utd Xi: e Martinez; Yolo, de ligt, L Martinez; Dalot, Ederson, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha, Sesko.
