Manchester United wants to offload Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrrell Malacia, but Reuben Amorim says they won’t allow them to sell cheaply
Reuben Amorim says he only wants players to commit to Manchester United to help his team recover from the worst Premier League season in history.
Amorim left four players from the US tour teams, Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrrell Malacia.
Against that background, Amorim said it was important for him and his players (including new signatures Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo) to form a bond before such a crucial season.
“I think every team, when you see the best team in the world, you feel the bond between all the players,” Amorim said. “I think that’s really important.
“I think then I need to remind you how special it is to be at Manchester United, and that’s what I feel. It’s the best club in the world, and that’s what we should do for everyone on the field at our club.

“So I really love the feeling. I really like being in a really healthy group. We’re going to suffer. We have some issues. But the feeling that everyone is bonding – from the staff, from the players, and with the technical staff is really important.
“I think it helps us win games that aren’t working very well, but something happened because the mind is positive, because if we have to start the season with this team, then all the players here want to be here.
“In Matheus and Bryan, they chose to be here. They had other options, Champions League options, and at this moment we read everything people say about our club. But they chose to be here.
United hopes to offload Ghanacho, Sancho, Antony and Malacia to raise funds for further new signatures, but Amorim said they will not allow them to be sold at a low price.
“Players have a variety of reasons (and left),” Amorim said. “Some players have to find new places to have more space for their teams, others clearly show that they need new challenges and want a new team.
“We just have time to think and decide for these players. If they get to the point they have to join the team, they are our players, so they are our players.
“The fact is that these people, Jason (Wilcox, technical director), Omar (Belada, CEO), the club have a number of these players, and if they don’t get to that, they will be Manchester United players.
“I understand that the club is waiting for the final moments, but they can be surprised. I’m ready to receive players. If I want to play in the World Cup next year, they have more competition, more competition, so they have to play.
“I’m really happy with it because there are more options. If they have to fight each other to play one game a week, it’s perfect for me.”
