Lioness Ace Chiara Keating was found guilty of failing to pay car taxes hours after lifting the Euro 2025 title with the UK on Sunday. Keating, featured in the Manchester City book, was England’s backup goalkeeper during the winning European Championship campaign.

The 21-year-old appeared on stage during the Lioness Trophy celebration and visited Downing Street earlier this week. However, the English women’s star was slapped by a court with a fine of £440 and ordered to pay back £79.17 and £20 costs after halting the Volkswagen Polo last December.

Keating’s case was heard in her absence after she was unable to attend the hearing at Thamesside Magistrate. The goalkeeper stopped driving at Berry, Greater Manchester, and was informed four months ago that her taxes had expired.

That comes after police dropped accusations in June of possessing nitrous oxide cans just before the euro began. After the charges were dropped, Keating told the BBC: “I released the charges being dropped. As I always said, I had nothing wrong. It was a difficult time, but I always know the truth.

Focusing on the euro she did, it formed part of the historic Lioness side, where Keating became the first senior side of England to hold a major tournament. Although she didn’t play for a minute for Switzerland, Keating created a key part of the team, celebrating teammate Michel Aguiermann, following the heroic teenage equalizer.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live, she said: “Mich is Mich. I think she’s a very good person on the team. You know you achieve your hard work goals. At such a young age, it’s inspiration to see.

About her character: “Mick has always had the confidence that underlies it. She may not be the loudest person in the group, walks around with her breasts. But she always knows what she has to do and she’s very good at it.” Joke, Keating concluded: “I’m loud and she’s a quiet person.”

Keating will be able to spend some time out of football before returning to City training ahead of the new women’s super league season. The Bruce is running a campaign from champion Chelsea on Friday, September 5th.
