Viktor Gyoker revealed that he wanted to join Arsenal this summer, and now warned Manchester United. The Swedes warned former sports boss Reuben Amorim about asking about his reunion with his old centre forward.
The £63 million striker completed his solo training regime while awaiting the conclusion of his long-term transfer saga, and ultimately joined Arsenal last week. And Gyokeres is rarizing tomorrow to their new Hong Kong teammates ahead of the North London derby with Tottenham in foreign soil.
He was asked if he would be a match fit for United on August 17th, and he replied with a confident nod and a simple “Yes.” And Gyoker was able to go out to Gunners for the first time against Spurs.
“He is only trained today, but very little training yesterday,” revealed his new manager, Mikel Arteta. “We’ll rate it tonight. If the medical team is happy, there’s a chance he’s featured.”
When asked why he chose Arsenal over United or any other potential club, Gyoker was clear. “Of course there were other clubs, but this wasn’t a difficult choice.
Arteta is excited about his new signature. After seeing him train at Kytax Stadium in Hong Kong, Arteta is even more confident that he has the right guy to lead the North London Club’s line, chasing the much-anticipated major silverware this season.
He said: “When the news broke, and when you realised the size of the club you represent and how fast everything is going to be these days, his immediate response was amazing, and I think he saw the way we received again yesterday, the training session of 20,000 people.
“I think you’ll make a very good first impression. That’s certainly true. We received a training session we were with 20,000 people yesterday. I think you have a very good first impression.
