Tottenham appeared to have been locked up in Morgan Gibbs White’s signature earlier this month, but the Nottingham Forest star is now signing a record deal.
Morgan Gibbs White officially violated his future in Nottingham Forest – just weeks after he saw the attacking midfielder join Tottenham.
Earlier this month, news was broken that Spurs had caused a £60m release clause on his 25-year-old contract. However, Mori got mad at what they considered an illegal approach from Premier League rivals for one of their most influential stars.
Gibbs White then played for pre-season Forest. This told us all about what he said was quieter towards the Spurs.
And now the club has confirmed that Gibbs White will sign a club-record three-year contract to put an end to speculation about the future of the midfielder.
A video was posted online showing the club’s owners Gibbs-White and Evangelos Marinakis, and the news was announced. However, some naughty fans said that the forest star looked like a “hostage” in the video above.

One social media user joked: “You don’t cry for help as the captor is standing by you! #freegibbswhite.” Another poster said, “After being held hostage in the forest like Orize in the palace, he laughs with Gibbs White’s fake smile and his owner.”
The third football fan said, “Many interesting moments through this transfer window. Clearly, United players chase, Liverpool has scattered a huge amount of cash, and Arsenal, Isaac’s situation all the time, etc.
Despite joking from fans, Gibbswhite said he was “excited” for the next one at Forest after the club made his appearance in Europe last season.
Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “From the moment I arrived I felt like I was home in the woods. The support from the fans, my teammates and everyone around the club is incredible.
“I believe in what we are building here, and with Mr. Marinakis’ support and the enormous ambitions he has, I want to be part of creating something special. I’m excited about what’s coming.”
Forest owner Marinakis, who posed with Gibbs White in a photo celebrating his new contract, said: “Morgan is a special player not only in terms of talent, but also in terms of character and mentality. He represents everything we want this football club.
“There was a lot of interest from various clubs, but we decided to build a future with Morgan, which is at the heart of Morgan. The fans promised not only to compete, but to become stronger and stronger every season. Today is another big step in that journey.”
