Marcus Rashford officially signed Barcelona on an in-season loan from Manchester United and was given the honorable shirt number by the LA La Liga Champions
Barcelona announced that Marcus Rashford has been given the No. 14 shirt after joining the loan from Manchester United. The 27-year-old Rashford will spend the 2025-26 season with Barca. Barka has the option to buy him for £26 million next summer.
England International is aiming to invade the side that won the La Liga, Copa del Rey and Super Copa des Pandas last season, wearing a 14 on his back while playing under Hansifrik. This number was last worn by Pablo Torre, who recently completed a permanent move to Mallorca.
Thierry Henry also wore 14 in his time at Barcelona, but that was not worn for Barca, but a number related to Johann Cruyff. Rashford previously compared his style of play to Henry, who was part of Pep Guardiola’s treble winning team in 2009.
During his holiday in Marbella last month, United lender told Spanish YouTube channel Xbuyer:
“When I developed it, position No. 9 has become more comfortable and natural. Playing with my goals from my back is becoming easier for me. You are always in front of the goal and always dangerous.”
