Stuart Pierce believes Manchester United can have advantages over Newcastle United in the races of Benjamin Sesco due to its geographical location.
“Through my experience as a manager in the Premier League, I want players to play in the Champions League,” Pierce told Manchester Evening News. “That’s a big part of what they want to do.
“That’s the first thing (they ask). ‘Are you in the Champions League?” Many players want to be close to Manchester.
“You’re geographically, if you’re happening in Newcastle, if it’s just the nature of the footballer’s mentality, I’m afraid. They might be drawn to whether other clubs have friends, or if their wife or family friends are a big part of that.
“There’s a lot to contest, sometimes more than what you can see right in front of you.”
