Liverpool gave plenty of fans to sink their teeth in their 3-1 comeback victory over Japan’s Yokohama F. Marinos. The £79 million signature that signed Hugo Ekitike made its debut, and the day £116 million Man Florian Wirtz scored his first goal for the club Mohamed Salah and 16-year-old Rio Ngumoha produced the most eye-catching performances.

The Reds were delayed when Ueno Ueda fired from the post in the 55th minute. But they finally put together an act of attack in order to seal the handsome victory by Waltz, Trey Nyoni and Ngumoha. Here’s how Express Sports performed by each Liverpool player…

Liverpool player rating vs Yokohama (4-3-3)

Giorgi Mamardashvili: 6

It wasn’t busy, but it worked well to stop Dean’s David Header.

Connor Bradley: 5 (Flimon, 64)

We lost a man in the back post and fortunately Yokohama was not heading forward.

Ibrahima Conate: 5 (Tsimikas, 64)

His individual errors sparked a counterattack in Yokohama, and he was bailed out by Virgil van Dik. It was also sucked out of position for a target that would place the Japanese side first.

Virgil Van Dijk: 7 (Endo, 59)

A solid defensive display.

Milos Karques: 5 (Robertson, 64)

Luckily, his own half intercepted passes were able to be something Yokohama never led.

Dominik Szoboszlai: 8 (Eliot, 64)

It looked really sharp, especially in the early stages of the game. Long and short line destructive passes, defensive work. His performance had the appearance of a player who knew his position was under threat from Wirtz.

Lian Grain Bellch: 4 (Jones, 46)

His long throw-in requires more practice. After Natsu gave him a free kick with a terrible tackle moment.

Florian Wirtz: 7 (Mac Allister, 64)

There were no “amazing” moments in his general play, losing the ball several times, but he managed to score his goals well.

Mohamed Sarah: 9 (Eliot, 64)

If he continues to play like this, it will be another productive season. They produced top balls on top to find Cody Gakupo, Suzoboschlei, Darwin Nunes and again Gakupo. All four failed to score, but Sarah played a key role in Wirtz’s equalizer.

Hugo Ekitike: 7 (Nunez, 46)

Some bright moments of his debut. He produced a lovely flick for Bradley around the corner and approached with a cheeky back heel attempt at the goal.

Cody Gakpo: 6

He hit the post early on with a low curler and looked dangerous, but he must conclude that he is too wasted because he may have missed it.

Curtis Jones: 6

The ball was played behind him when Yokohama took the lead, but made up for it when he intercepted a pass, led the attack and got a clever assist in Wirtz’s goal.

Darwin Nunes: 5

After putting Sarah’s ball to the top, he made a terrible mistake.

Wataru End: 6

A big reception from Japanese fans and a lovely gesture when he was handed the captain’s armband by Van Dik.

Rio ngumoha: 9

I picked up a ball in the middle of Yokohama and darted towards the box, finding a net that had little effort. Lightning feet and acceleration gave the game a real injection. It’s easy to see why Liverpool fans are so excited about him. And he is only 16 years old.

Trey Nyoni: 7

Another promising Liverpool young man, 18, fired Liverpool forward by latching onto Jeremy Fripon’s cross.

Kostas Tsimikas: 6

A quiet cameo with a strangely short backline.

Jeremie Frimpong: 7

Gioni played a great ball to tap the house.

Andy Robertson: 6

He helped Liverpool see the victory after replacing Kerquez.

Harvey Elliott: 6

After the last match against AC Milan, they set off from the bench.

Alexis Mac Allister: 6

Finally, I handed over the pre-season minutes to the bank.
