He is now making his Arsenal debut against bitter rival Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong on Thursday as he was stacked up in opening league fixtures with Manchester United at Old Trafford on August 17th.
While comparing it to the French great Henry, who scored 228 goals for Arsenal when choosing the No. 14 jersey, the Swedes claim that it is his number.
“I’ve been waiting for a long time so it’s great to end up training with the team. Everyone is very helpful. I think it’s very easy to (integrate) into a group.”
It could put a lot of pressure on the shoulders of players once again, but Gyoker has made it clear he is happy to be at the North London Club.
“There are a lot of people here who are happy with me, so I just want to give it back on the pitch, and I think it’s time,” he added.
“In the past few days, it’s been a lot. It’s straight to it. It’s great, but there’s a lot at the same time. It’s an amazing feeling to be here.
“Of course there’s external pressure, but how much pressure you put on yourself and as much pressure as possible when you’re on the pitch.”
Arsenal struggled with goals last season, with Kai Herberts and Saka injured for most of the season, with midfielder Mikel Merino in his place.
Gyoker was brought in to fill that void. And like any other good No. 9, that’s what he wants to do every time he step into the field.
“I’ve always wanted to score goals, but I think it’s more important for a team to support them with their qualities,” he said. “Win as much as possible in the games we play and take it from there.”

These signatures raise Arsenal’s expectations in the Premier League title race next season, and Arteta believes Gyoker is ready to handle that pressure perfectly.
“When I explained to him what I wanted, the context, the external demands of what he felt, he said, ‘I’m ready for it and looking forward to it.’
“That’s how we handle (pressure). These expectations are for a reason. People believe in him, our team and our quality to deliver what we want.
“There’s always pressure, whether it’s to win the Champions League or avoid relegation.”
