Eddie Howe talks about the future of Alexander Isaac in Newcastle, allowing the hierarchy to ultimately decide whether to sell the Swedes or not.
Newcastle boss Eddie Howe argued that the club had not taken a timescale on decisions regarding Alexander Isaac’s future, but confessed that Liverpool’s target could leave the club this summer.
The Swedish striker, who has become the main light of the team in his three years at St. James Park, has expressed his desire to move away from the magpies and explore his options. This means Newcastle could win the trophy and lose the best player despite being qualifying for the Champions League.
If ISAK leaves, it will require a transfer fee for the UK and records to seduce Newcastle, and now Liverpool is the only Premier League club to move forward. I’m also interested in Saudi Arabia.
Isak had just enjoyed his best season before finishing, but now it’s not part of the team’s preseason preparations, and mostly to speculation surrounding his future. Hau argued that the decision would not be made immediately as the club would put pressure on the best in the long run.
He said: “I wouldn’t put a timescale on it. I think in these situations it needs to be right for a football club and then everything will be taken in the context below.

“But the club will make the right decision with all the information that has everything and ultimately try to move the club forward in any way. Then it’s up to us to make good decisions and try to improve our team as much as possible.
“But I think there’s a wide range of pictures here. There’s an entire football club where you have to make a decision. Ownership is of course with the board of directors, especially with the money involved in modern transfers, but ultimately the decision depends on the board.”
He added: “Of course there’s something going on behind the scenes (with Alex). I know he’s on the news every day, and I’m sure it’s not easy for anyone in that situation.
“He is grand for us and is extremely popular in the dressing room. I hope he will continue his journey in Newcastle. I hope he will stay, and I was sure he will stay.
“What I say in the wider picture is that whatever happens to Newcastle is right. We are in a very strong position financially. We are determined to succeed. We are ambitious. We have a great season before us.
Liverpool has just spent £79 million to land Hugo Ekitike as Frankfurt’s new No. 9, but it may not stop them from returning to the market to explore ISAK’s deals. Already, the red has spent over £200 million, but there’s a range to spend quite a bit more if needed.
That would be a major blow to Newcastle, who hasn’t kept a secret about their ambitions. They were able to invest gradually as Saudi owners came in and have maintained their best talent ever.
