Viktor Gyoker has jumped out into Asia to link with his new Arsenal teammate, and their £63.7 million signature has already revealed what he wants from them
Viktor Gyoker, who signs the new Arsenal, wants one thing from Captain Martin Odegard: Assist. Gyokeres, 27, finally completed a £63.7 million move to the Emirates on Saturday, putting the pen on paper on a five-year contract.
The Swedish arrival ends the lengthy search for Arsenal striker and boss Mikel Arteta, hoping he will become the missing part of their jigsawpa. Gyoker has scored 97 goals in just 101 games in the Lisbon sport, becoming one of Europe’s most prolific shooters.
But the former Coventry City Talisman needs service and wants Odegard to provide it. In a video posted to Arsenal’s social media channels, you can see Gyoker reading a letter from the Gunners skipper.
“If there’s something I need or a way to help, I’ll just scream at me,” read some of Odegaard’s message. “Please give me some assists, that’s fine,” Gyoker interrupted.
The 27-year-old then continues reading, “I look forward to working together and sharing success in the upcoming seasons. All the best Martins.”

Gyoker then stated: “It’s so lovely. All you need is an assist.”
Swedish International met Odegard for the first time on Sunday. He arrived in Singapore and saw Arsenal defeat Newcastle 3-2. Odegaard scored a winning goal and converted an 84-minute penalty.
The next Gunners will clash with north London’s bitter rival Tottenham in Hong Kong on Thursday. Gyoker managed to make his debut with “Friendly,” but his lack of match fitness could delay his first outing in an Arsenal shirt.

Arteta did not rule out the possibility that Gyoker was featured.
“So we evaluated him tomorrow and he did all the medical care, everything looks good, but I’m not going to stop him to speed up at the right level of fitness I think is very important.
If he appears, Gyoker will wear the No. 14 shirt, famously known by Gunners legend Thierry Henry. His competitive debut could face Manchester United (who was also interested in signing him) on Sunday, August 16th, the opening weekend of the 2025-26 Premier League season.
