After breaking royal protocols during the Lionestrophy presentation, the identity of the young girl who has captured many hearts has been revealed. The girl stood next to Prince William when the English players gathered medals after defeating Spain in the Euro 2025 final. She was visibly delighted as she greeted the team on her way to the podium to lift the trophy.
In her enthusiasm, the girl accidentally appeared to break royal protocols when she waved the player’s hand in front of William, who was standing in front of her. She has since been praised on social media, leaving many viewers impressed by her joyous response. It is now revealed that the girl is attending the final as a special guest at UEFA.
She is identified as Greta, who is from Switzerland and is 12 years old. She has a genetic form of epilepsy and is diagnosed with this condition when she was just a baby.
Greta participated in the trophy presentation as a guest at the UEFA Foundation for Children. This invites young people with disabilities and special needs regularly to participate in official ceremonies.
A statement from the Governing Body stated, “Greta is a cheerful, open-minded, determined young girl with a great passion for sports.
“Her enthusiasm, patience and love for sports have made her a fitting and inspiring choice to attend a medal ceremony with UEFA President Alexander Ceferin.”
Greta spotted chatting with William during the ceremony. The future king smiled and placed his hands on his shoulders as he exchanged words.
Fans watching the trophy presentation are pleased with Greta’s enthusiasm, and @thereusableuser wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
“We’re excited to be able to help you get started,” said @CaitsRightBoot.
@ahowroyd added: “She looked very happy. It was great to see her grab her hand,” wrote @Meldorado9.
Prince William also joined by his daughter Princess Charlotte, and saw England win the Euro for the second consecutive time.
After the trophy presentation, she was given a medal of the winner to keep up and was seen holding it with great enthusiasm.
Charlotte later signed her first official message on the Kensington Royal Account, congratulating the Lioness on their historic victory.
The message said, “What a game! Lioness, you are the European champion and we couldn’t be proud of the entire team. Enjoy this moment.
