Manchester United reportedly investigated a swap deal where you can see Reuben Amorim finally landing in the centre. Chelsea and Aston Villa are said to have contacted potential moves involving Alejandro Garnacho leaving Old Trafford.
Garnacho is one of the few players who want to unite alongside Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia. The Winger is training on his own, not part of the Red Devils’ US tour. Chelsea and the Villa were previously linked to Argentina International, which is considered to have no future in Old Trafford. United reportedly contacted both Premier League rivals over a possible deal.
United asked the club about swap deals on Chelsea’s Nicholas Jackson and Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins, according to the Independent. The Red Devils are interested in both players as part of their plans to sign a new striker.
Other members of the Ineos and United hierarchy are reportedly trying to become innovative in the transfer market due to pressure on the club’s PSR situation. Around £130 million has been spent on Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo, but more signatures are needed if Amorim’s Squad gets the surgery he needs after a horrifying season.
One issue with the deal that Chelsea and Jackson are involved is that the Blues reportedly value the forward for around £80 million. They are said to only pay Garnacho £30 million.
United need a new centre forward after flounder Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zilky are surprised in the Premier League. Watkins is reportedly considered a safe option that regularly scored in the UK’s top tier.
Meanwhile, Amorim is determined to sign only players who buy his philosophy immediately. The exiled, including Garnacho, are players who are not fit in the Portuguese coach system.
Amorim told United’s website: “They want to come here. I think all that fans can do is want players who have already proven (by themselves). Sometimes there are players with a lot of potential.
“And one of the things that really matters is they want to come here. That’s the key point. If we can find someone in the market, help the team and have all the boxes with them, then we’re going to do that.
