Benjamin Sesco reportedly was “impressed” with Manchester United after being noticed by Reuben Amorim’s long-term plan. The pursuit of a new centre forward could lead the Red Devils to create a formal approach for RB Leipzigster.
United are not thwarted in search of a new No. 9 despite missing out on Liam Dellup and Victor Gyoker. Amorim has already improved its forward line with the addition of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha. A central upgrade will take United’s attack to another level. Sesco reportedly remains a target, but Newcastle is also interested in the 22-year-old’s signature amid strong speculation that Alexander Isaac could leave.
According to Sky Germany, United laid out their projects to Sesco and proposed “numbers” ahead of potential consultations over personal conditions. Slovenia International is said to have been “impressed” by United’s interest.
Leipzig is claimed to want at least £64 million from the forward. That could mean United must sell before they can buy, meaning they had already spent around £130 million this summer on Mbeumo and Cunha.
United have struggled to offload a series of fringe players, including Alejandro Garnacho, Antony and Jadon Sancho. Marcus Rashford is only on loan to Barcelona and could make the deal permanent for £26 million next summer.
Sesco has linked to Europe’s biggest club since it exploded into the scene of 16-year-old Red Bull Salzburg. He could eventually move to the Premier League this summer, and Newcastle is reportedly keen on him as a potential ISAK replacement.
United boss Amorim claims that players who are joining the club this summer should fully invest in his projects. He told the club’s media channel: “They want to come here. I think all that fans can do is want a player who has already proven themselves. Sometimes you have a player with a lot of potential to do that, you need to know that, but we need to know the player. We need to talk to the player.
“And one of the things that really matters is they want to come here. That’s the key point. If we can find someone in the market, help the team and have all the boxes with them, then we’re going to do that.
