FIFA president Gianni Infantino announced that Panini’s sticker album production contract will expire after the 2030 World Cup and a new contract will take over.
The Panini World Cup sticker album will become a thing of the past after the 100th anniversary of the final in 2030, after FIFA announced a new partnership on Thursday.
FIFA’s relationship with Panini already dates back more than 50 years, with the publication of the first World Cup sticker book ahead of the 1970 Mexico tournament, and will reach 60 years by 2030.
However, FIFA announced Thursday that it has extended its contract with Fanatics for collectibles to include FIFA tournaments and events starting in 2031.
Sticker albums have become hugely popular, with a completed 1970 album selling for more than £10,000 in 2017.

“Across the sports world, we see Fanatics driving massive innovation in collectibles that offer fans new and meaningful ways to interact with their favorite teams and favorite players,” said FIFA President Gianni Infantino.
“So, from a FIFA perspective, we are able to globalize our fan engagement precisely because of our portfolio of global tournaments. And this provides another significant commercial revenue stream for us to bring back to the game, football as usual.”

In December 2023, Panini agreed to an agreement with FIFA to remain its exclusive partner for official stickers, trading cards, trading card games and digital goods for this summer’s World Cup, the 2030 World Cup, and the 2027 Women’s World Cup, among other FIFA tournaments and events.
