Marcus Rashford is on loan at Barcelona, with the Catalan giants having the option to make the move permanent in the summer
Marcus Rashford is one of five players expected to leave Barcelona this summer and is linked with a return to Manchester United. According to reports in Spain, the club will not make the loan move permanent.
The forward is on loan from United, with Barça having the option to make his move permanent for a fee of £26 million in the summer. However, there have been mixed reports as to whether the club intends to exercise that option.
There are also rumors that Barcelona are trying to renegotiate a lower transfer fee with United, or try to agree a deal to keep Rashford on loan next season. However, United have not given up on their assessment.

According to Spanish media outlet Marca, Rashford is now one of five players expected to leave Barcelona this summer after “finishing their cycle” at the club. He has played in 43 games this season, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists.
Should Rashford return to United, his future will need to be determined by who takes up the head coaching role. They could either bring him back into the squad and hope he shows the form he had when he broke into the first team, or they could look for another potential buyer for the forward.

The England international spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa. He played in 17 games for the club, scoring 4 goals and providing 6 assists.
He returned to Thomas Tuchel’s England squad last year and is expected to play a key role in this summer’s North American World Cup. The buyout clause in Rashford’s loan deal with Barcelona expires on June 15, four days after the start of the competition.
As well as Rashford, fellow striker Robert Lewandowski is also on the list. The Poland international is out of contract at the Camp Nou this summer and reports suggest his agent is in talks with Juventus.
The other three players, Frenkie de Jong, Andreas Christensen and Marc Massad, are likely to leave the club at the end of the season.
His departure is said to be part of a strategy to free up some financial space and let go of some of the club’s biggest earners to ease the “financial burden”.
Barcelona have been unable to complete the deal in recent seasons as they have to comply with La Liga’s Financial Fair Play regulations. If they can reduce their personnel costs, they may have a little more leeway in the upcoming transfer market.
