A mural depicting Sam Alladies in a bag of orange chips appeared on Dudley’s walls, and the former England manager gave the artwork a seal of approval

Former England manager Sam Aladdis says he is “absolutely privileged” after the 10-foot mural shows him eating orange chips in his hometown. Aladdis was born and raised in Dudley, and the artwork is believed to have been stuck on the walls of Union Street in the town centre.

Orange chips are specialised in black countryside. The mural depicts Araladis wearing a suit and tie and enjoying those bags. However, the mystery surrounds the origins of the mural, but the artist leaves no signature.

Local resident Scott Simmons told the BBC:

“When you see it, you don’t know how good it is until you get off and see it. It puts Dudley on the map. Big Sam, immortal here, yeah, that’s great.”

A local Andy Smith buddy said, “What do you want with the orange chips that eat local youths? Birmingham has a real Banksy. Perhaps this is Dudley’s answer to Banksy.”

Despite the mystery surrounding the artist behind the mural, Aradies gave the artwork a seal of approval. “I think it’s absolutely privileged to be honest with you, and it’s very similar,” he told ITV News.

“The tip looks a little hot, but I really enjoyed watching it. Thank you very much to everyone.”

Allardyce has not managed a club that has not been able to prevent them from being relegated to the championship since their short stint at Leeds United in 2023. However, if things are correct, he has not ruled out a return to the dugout.

“You’ll pick up the phone and hear people asking for my help,” Aladdis told Miller Football earlier this year. “But it needs to be a good project where we are all pulling in the same direction.

“You might think it always happens at football clubs, but trust me, it’s not. Everyone has to line up along the same path.

“I’m 70 now, and I have no problem going back to work when the right opportunity arises.
