Lionel Messi virtually admits he’s the GOAT in pre-2026 FIFA World Cup hype video

FOr for many soccer fans, the GOAT debate was settled long ago. Even before Lionel Messi won an international trophy with Argentina, his otherworldly production and style of play made him the greatest player of all time in the eyes of many. After that, the national team’s praises started coming in one after another.

The 2021 Copa America, Finalissima, 2022 FIFA World Cup and 2024 Copa America are not up for debate. Some may prefer Cristiano Ronaldo, Pele or Diego Maradona, but the argument for Messi is easier than ever. And he seems to know it himself.

Messi has long been humble and grounded when discussing his place on the all-time list. He has always said he cares more about the team’s success than his personal reputation. But in a new ad for Adidas and his Team Messi brand, Messi remained silent while literally letting the goat do the talking.

Lionel Messi’s new ad for Adidas pairs him with a goat on top of a mountain

Published on his Instagram page in collaboration with Adidas Football, Messi is seen sitting on top of a mountain in a “thinking man” pose. A goat is climbing the mountain right behind him.

This ad appears to be for his brand’s new line of gold-colored items. The caption reads, “Peak Golden Hour.”

With this new post, the Argentine is excited for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup. Messi may be keeping quiet about his intentions to play in this tournament, but it’s clear he still feels golden and improving his game.
