Arsenal were able to shake off Sporting in the second leg, resulting in a stalemate and limped through to the Champions League semi-finals.
The Gunners went into the second leg at the Emirates with a 1-0 advantage after Kai Havertz scored the winning goal in stoppage time in Lisbon last week. Sporting came closest to filling that spot with Genny Cantano, but his first-half shot deflected wide of the post.
And despite another nerve-wracking night in front of their own fans, a 0-0 draw was enough for them to reach the semi-finals for the second year in a row for the first time in their history.
They will now face Atlético Madrid in an attractive draw, with the first leg in Madrid taking place later this month.
