Gerard Pic once again found himself in a tense situation with the referee against Andorra. It happened on Sunday afternoon at home against Malaga (3-3). This was recorded in the referee’s report by Alejandro Ohaos Varela.
“After the first half, in the tunnel, Gerard Pique Bernabéu approached the first assistant referee in an aggressive manner, shouted and pointed his index finger inches from his face, repeatedly using the words ‘historic robbery’ and ‘uploading it to Twitter’,” the referee’s report said.
Moreover, according to the referee’s report, there was more to it, as Pique also clashed with representatives of rival teams. “This person also displayed an aggressive attitude towards members of Málaga CF and had to be separated by members of FC Andorra and security,” continued the report written by the referee.
Disallowed goals and penalties
Pique, Andorra’s majority shareholder, complained about a controversial incident in the first half when referee Alejandro Ojaos Varela disallowed his team’s goal for a foul on Murillo, then awarded a penalty to Joaquín Muñoz, leaving Malaga 0-2 after the first 45 minutes.
picket feud
This season, Gerard Pique has already taken part in separate discussions with referees. During the 1-1 match between Andorra and Mirandez at the end of September, matchday six, referee Alonso de Ena Wolf recorded several incidents at the end of the match that involved both Andorra’s majority shareholder and the club’s sporting director, Jaume Nogues.
“After the match, while in the tunnel, he loudly and aggressively addressed my assistant No. 1 Jaume Nogués Llorens with the following words: ‘You are a disgrace, this is a disgrace.’ This situation led Gerard Pic Bernabéu to come within a few centimeters of assistant No. 1 and observe the referee’s decision in an intimidating manner while shouting,” the report revealed.
Pique then played the leading role again on 20 December 2025, in the 19th round match between Andorra and Deportivo (1-0). “At the end of the first half, while entering the tunnel, I was able to identify Gerard Pic Bernabéu. He came up to me to reprimand me for one of the decisions he had made in the first half and said, “It’s easy to whistle at little kids,” while he was being held by members of the club all the while,” Eder Maro, the match’s referee, wrote in his report.
