a With 70 days left until the new edition of the FIFA World Cup, teams are not alone as they prepare for what is expected to be a historic event. The Lego brand has taken the internet by storm with an ad featuring Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbapp and Vincius Junior, and has decided to launch a new collection inspired by soccer’s biggest tournament.

Not only do the four stars have their own figures, but they also appear in the launch video, which brings together these four sports stars and is making waves around the world.

Iconic LEGO collection featuring Messi, CR7, Mbap and Vini

Following previous releases such as the World Cup trophy that the Albiceleste captain posed with a while ago, and the 1,498-piece soccer ball, Lego aims to bring fans closer to the action and has unveiled a collection that celebrates the players’ careers and personalities through minifigures and detailed construction of each player.

Lego shared a video on its official Instagram account promoting the launch, in which star players from Portugal, Argentina, France and Brazil gather at the same table to play with pieces and aim to “win the World Cup.”

They wrote alongside the video, “Everyone wants a piece #HonestlyItsNotAI.” The announcement sparked a reaction from millions of fans, with comments such as “Unexpected collaboration,” “Best ad of the past 10 years,” “This is truly legendary!” and “Oh, the internet? It’s broken.”

The ‘Football Highlights’ set captures the essence of each player in a text-based format, featuring national team colors, jersey numbers and collectible nameplates.

“It’s not every day that you get to be a Lego set!” said Cristiano, whose piece features the words “CR7,” his minifigure, his iconic “SIUU” celebration, and other hidden details tracing his career.

Vini’s set represents the best of Brazil. Not only does it feature his minifigure and the words “Vini Junior 7”, but one of the most iconic details is the five stars built around a V-shaped brick base, one for each title earned.

“This Lego set tells part of my story, but most of all it captures the energy and creativity that makes this sport special,” Mbappu reflected. The set features an elegant “M” shaped brick base, French colors, a striking white and gold jersey number 10 (Real Madrid) and his last name.

Messi is depicted on a sky blue and white ‘M’ shaped base, featuring his number 10 and references to his career, including references to his time at Newell’s, Rose, PSG and Inter Miami.

Additionally, Cristiano and Lionel each have a “Football Legends” set that offers multiple building options. For the 41-year-old Portuguese star, the set recreates Ronaldo’s iconic ‘siu’ pose and bicycle kick, while Leo’s set features his signature victory pose. If both players take part in this tournament, they will become the only two players in history to appear in six World Cups.

The Argentina national team captain also has a 1,427-piece Celebration set that can be displayed as a 3D wall art piece. This set features his number 10 jersey and includes numerous hidden details that pay homage to his career.

The collection is now available for pre-order online on the official LEGO website.
