FC Barcelona is considering a major restructuring of their attacking team this summer. According to ESPN, the plan also includes listening to offers for Ferran Torres in order to add some new offensive players.
Revolution in attack
According to various sources who spoke to ESPN, up to two new strikers could arrive at Barra, with Ferran Torres being named as the key player to be sacrificed to take the attack to another level.
They want Torres to leave in order to raise money and invest in new players. The 26-year-old has a contract until 2027. In fact, despite the huge age difference, his name is a higher priority for departure than Robert Lewandowski.
Furthermore, as Rose president Joan Laporta recently confirmed, the plan is for the Polish striker to renew his contract, which expires this summer.
Sports director Deco is working on alternatives available to the team. Argentina international and Atltico Madrid forward Flynn Rubares’ name has been identified as one of the main transfer targets. They are also considering ways to extend the stay of Marcus Rashford, a player who has proved decisive.
Rose have an option to turn the England international’s loan from Manchester United into a permanent deal for around 30 million yen, but their intention is to either lower that amount or extend his loan deal for another season. The club admits that none of the three strategies – renewing Lewandowski’s contract, signing Julin Lebarez and retaining Rashford – will be difficult, so they are also analyzing other options to strengthen both the centre-forward and wing positions.
