The Los Angeles Football Club has gotten the Major League Soccer season off to a flying start. After Saturday night’s 0-0 draw against Austin FC, the team has now gone five games without a goal.
LAFC now has 450 minutes without a goal and could have ended their 360-minute undefeated run had Milt Uzuni’s goal been ruled out, but LAFC made league history.

Marc dos Santos’ side have the perfect balance of attack and defense, making them an impenetrable wall for their opponents, who have failed to score at home or away this season.
During the match against Austin FC, Milt Uzuni tried to end this streak, but her goal was first ruled out for offside, and then a great save from Hugo Lloris in stoppage time allowed the goal to be canceled out, allowing the team to defend their historic record.
LAFC broke the Vancouver Whitecaps’ record of 427 minutes without allowing a goal, which had been held since 2012. Well, the Black & Gold team not only kept a clean sheet during that period, they surpassed it and set a new MLS record.
All-time records include the New York Red Bulls’ 420 undefeated minutes in 2007, St. Louis City SC’s 367 minutes in 2025, and the Seattle Sounders’ 349 minutes in 2009.

With this, the French goalkeeper became the first player in MLS history to start a season with five consecutive shutouts. Lloris officially retired from the French national team on January 9, 2023, immediately after the Qatar 2022 World Cup, as the player who has played the most international matches in Les Bleus’ history (145) and the player who has worn the captain’s armband the most (121).
The 2018 World Cup champion has been instrumental in keeping the Los Angeles team scoreless since he arrived in U.S. Soccer at the age of 39, thanks to his experience, leadership and reflexes.
In addition to the record, the club started the season with strong results and established itself as one of the top title contenders. He has gotten off to an overwhelming start and has high expectations among fans and analysts.
With this milestone, LAFC reaffirmed its status as one of the strongest teams in MLS and made clear not only its aspirations in the Western Conference, but also its desire to make history.
