IThere has been speculation in the Italian media that current AC Milan manager Massimiliano Allegri may be one of Florentino Perez’s candidates to coach Real Madrid next season. The option fuels rumors that Luka Modric, 40, is a condition for coach Allegri to sit on the bench at the Santiago Bernabéu, opening the possibility of the Croatian prodigy returning to Real Madrid alongside French midfielder Adrien Rabiot.

German newspaper Bild has reported that Madrid will consider bringing Modric back in order to restore leadership in the dressing room and on the field.

However, Luka Modric was quick to quash rumors of a return to Madrid.
“Allegri and I at Real Madrid? There are always rumors, but I’m not interested. I’m very happy here at Milan,” he dismissed the rumors, as quoted by Madrid Extra.
Luka Modric left Real Madrid this summer after 13 years, including six Champions League titles and four La Liga titles.
In his first few months at Milan, the Croatian, who was signed until the end of the season with the option of a further year, made 30 appearances (2,324 minutes), scoring two goals and providing three assists.

Manager Massimiliano Allegri has also publicly ruled out the option of leaving AC Milan, and also quashed rumors of him joining Madrid’s bench.
“I’m happy at Milan and I have a contract until 2027,” said the 58-year-old Italian manager.
Allegri was close to the Real Madrid bench several times in 2019 and 2021, but the Italian has decided to remain at Juventus.
