aAfter conquering all of North America with their historic Super Bowl halftime show, Bad Bunny continues his “DeBI TiRAR MaS FOToS World Tour” with a visit to Argentina before his turn to Brazil. Benito said something on the show and paid a small tribute to the great star of Brazilian football.

As is now customary at several concerts, artists are allowed to mention the country they are performing in, and Bad Bunny’s visit to Brazil was no exception, as he decided to change the lyrics of one of his songs from Cristiano Ronaldo to a reference to the legendary Pele.

Bad Bunny pays tribute to Messi before concert in Brazil

A Puerto Rican singer left fans speechless during his show when he performed a salsa version of Soda Stereo’s “De Musica Ligera” and altered the lyrics of one of the most popular songs of recent years to refer to current Argentina national team captain and MLS MVP Lionel Messi.

Bad Bunny changed the phrase “Soy Cristiano despues de meter un gol” to “soy Messi despues de meter un gol” in the song “Otra Noche en Miami”. This change caused the singer to provoke a strong reaction of excitement among those present, who enjoyed adjusting the lyrics.

This was not the only reference to the Argentine star, as Benito also took to the stage wearing the Argentine national team’s number 19 Albiceleste jersey. At the time, the number 10 belonged to the historic Juan Roman Riquelme, making it the first number Messi wore for the Argentina team.

What did you think of Bad Bunny’s mention of Pele?

Just as the singer did with Messi in Argentina, this time he changed part of the song “Monaco” to “It’s like scoring a goal after Pele and Maradona”, bringing a feeling of complete euphoria to those present.

After the incident, Pele’s official X account commented as follows:

Bad Bunny showed that football is music and joy. During his two performances in Brazil, he made sure to pay homage to the Eternal King. That says a lot. About respect. About legacy. About how soccer transcends borders, languages and generations.

Pele always belonged to the world. And when a Latin artist of Bad Bunny’s stature pays homage to the King on Brazilian soil, we know that that crown still shines. Thanks for the compliment, Benito. Music brings people together. The same goes for soccer.
