IInter Miami did not have the best start to their new journey in MLS with a heavy defeat against Los Angeles FC, but the club is already looking to continue with Messi and other high-profile additions to the team side of the US league.
Javier Mascherano’s side have made some great additions, but after the retirement of Sergio Busquets they are looking to add another European-level midfielder, who will be an old friend of Leo Messi’s, with whom he played against Barcelona and Real Madrid on several occasions.
Messi could have former Real Madrid player as teammate
After suffering a disaster on the opening day of the MLS season, Inter Miami believe their team can get even better and want to add another top player to their starting eleven in order to become champions again.
According to Mundo Deportivo, Casemiro is already in talks to sign with Inter Miami in the summer, which would be another blow to the market for David Beckham’s side.
Casemiro’s contract with Manchester United expires in June this year and all indications are that it will not be renewed, leaving him free to find a new club. After years of success in Europe, the Brazilian doesn’t think it would be a bad idea to end his career in MLS.
Messi’s disappointment in losing to LAFC
MLS is just getting started, but Inter Miami’s loss to LAFC has really dampened the mood in Mascherano’s team’s locker room.
One of the players most upset by the defeat was Leo Messi, who was seen looking for the referee after the match to ask for clarification on some of the decisions.
The image went viral on social media and showed Messi in a condition rarely seen. The number 10 was not happy with the match and was showing his frustration. The situation did not escalate and the Argentine player received no punishment.
