A fact that worries Barcelona fans: why does this always have to happen?

BDespite suffering, Hansi Flick of Arcelona managed to pull off a comeback in the Champions League against Czech Republic’s SK Slavia Prague. With this new comeback, Barcelona have reached an important number of games in which they started from behind on the scoreboard, and from being behind to even worse, a situation that is increasingly worrying the fans of the Blaugrana club.

For many, the Catalan club is one of the best teams at the moment, but mistakes at the start of the match prevent them from controlling the game from the beginning and could cost them important titles in the future.

Barcelona is the club with the most comebacks in Europe’s top five leagues.

An impressive but also worrying fact is that the Blaugrana are the European team with the most returnees in Europe’s top five leagues. The German coach’s team achieved come-from-behind wins against Eintracht Frankfurt, Betis, Atlético Madrid, Alaves, Real Sociedad, Real Oviedo, Levante, and in Round 7 of the Champions League against SK Slavia Prague.

This return makes the club’s eighth return so far this season, and while Bara has managed to defeat all of these opponents, fans on social media are starting to express concerns about Barcelona starting matches in such a way that they are trailing on the scoreboard and having to go against the flow to secure a win.

Barcelona had some tough games, but their attacking team responded well to achieve the expected result, keeping them at the top of La Liga with a one-point lead over second-placed Real Madrid and still in the quarter-finals of the Copa del Rey. They succeeded in winning the Supercopa de España title against Real Madrid and will hope that this latest result in the Champions League will help them finish in the top eight and avoid the play-offs in Europe’s top competition.

Barcelona and a busy schedule of La Liga, Copa del Rey and Champions League

Barcelona have two crucial weeks ahead of them in order to achieve their goal of winning all the titles still available this season. On Sunday 25th January, the club will host Real Oviedo as part of the next round of the Spanish league.

The same week, on Wednesday 28th, they host Copenhagen at Camp Nou as part of Round 8 of the Champions League. The club currently sit in ninth place, with multiple ties with eight other teams who also have 13 points, so they will have to pick up wins and goals in order to break into the top eight.

Then, at the end of January, Barcelona will visit Elche as part of Spanish league action, and midweek the Blaugranas will face Albacete in the Copa del Rey. Albacete is the team that defeated Real Madrid in the previous round with a last-minute goal.
