Christian Pulisic is showing the whole world that he is one of the top footballers on the planet at the highest level with AC Milan competing for the Serie A title. In fact, he is on track for what could be the best season of his career, culminating in the FIFA World Cup at home.
Lionel Messi’s quiet class stands out as he delivers the MLS trophy to the police
The US national team star sent a direct message to Mauricio Pochettino with his dominant performance. Pulisic scored in Milan’s most recent match, a 3-0 win over Hellas Verona, taking his tally to 10 goals and two assists in 15 games in all competitions.
That’s not all. He is personally challenging one of Serie A’s best strikers for the top scorer in the league.
Pulisic keeps pace with Lautaro Marnes
Christian Pulisic scored his eighth goal in Serie A, taking his tally to eight goals. He saved his team with another goal against Atalanta, leaving him just one point behind Argentine striker Lautaro Marnez (9 goals), who remained at the top of the table.
The numbers will surprise many, but they should also catch the attention of U.S. national team head coach Mauricio Pochettino ahead of the 2026 World Cup, which will be co-hosted by Mexico, the United States and Canada.
AC Milan have not lost in Serie A since losing their season opener to Cremonese in August. And this latest victory was the Rossoneri’s last match of 2025.
Last season (his best ever) Pulisic played 50 games, scoring 17 goals and providing 12 assists, establishing himself as one of Milan’s biggest stars.
Since joining the Rossoneri in the 2023-24 season, Pulisic has been directly involved in 50 goals (31 goals, 19 assists). Only Inter striker Lautaro Martinez has surpassed him in the same period with 54 goal contributions.
That level of production will be crucial for the United States, which will rely heavily on Christian Pulisic in front of his home crowd at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, scheduled for June 11-July 19.
