Lionel Messi’s contribution to FC Barcelona cannot be denied. 17 seasons, 35 titles, over 750 goals and thousands of stories are a treasure for every Bara fan.
But after his departure in 2021, several players who remained at the club and those who joined later followed in his footsteps, and today one of them has surpassed the 38-year-old captain.

Messi was overtaken by Rose’s promising youngster.
Leo played for the club from 2004 to 2021 and set several records, becoming Barcelona’s all-time top scorer and most decorated player. But one of them was taken away from him.
Pedro Gonzlez, better known as Pedri, joined from Las Palmas in 2020 and played alongside Leo in the 2020-2021 season, his last as an Argentine player.
Now, after playing his 150th LaLiga game against Osasuna (which ended in a 2-0 win thanks to Rafinha’s goal), Pedri became the youngest player to reach this milestone at just 23 years and 18 days old.
The young player was still able to reach this milestone despite being sidelined for several games due to injury, but he could have achieved it sooner. He played in 37 games in the first season, 12 in the 21-22 season, 26 in the next season, 24 in the 23-24 season, 37 in the 24-25 season, and 14 this season.
This record belonged to Lionel, who reached 150 games on October 23, 2010, at the age of 23 years and 121 days. Messi scored two goals that day in LaLiga matchday 8 against Zaragoza.
Pedri, on the other hand, became one of the club’s main players, making 220 appearances and proving that there is no age limit to breaking records.
